ISIS Global Strategy: March 2016
Mar 25, 2016 - Harleen Gambhir
ISW’s new ISIS Global strategy map places Chad and Niger in ISIS’s Far Abroad campaign to reflect recruitment by ISIS’s Libyan affiliate and attacks by ISIS’s Nigerian affiliate (also known as Boko Haram), respectively. This map also represents several countries in Southeast Asia as part of ISIS’s Near Abroad campaign rather than its Far Abroad campaign, reflecting recent indications that ISIS seeks to establish an affiliate in the region in the medium term (for more, see ISIS in Southeast Asia: January 1-March 2, 2016). ISW's last ISIS Global Strategy map was for January 2016.
