Mason Clark
Mason Clark is a National Security Fellow at the Institute for the Study of War. He has led ISW's standard-setting coverage of the Russian invasion of Ukraine since the operation was still in its planning stages. His research focuses on Russian military capabilities and learning, Kremlin integration efforts in the former Soviet Union and Russian strategic calculus. Mason is a trusted voice on Russian military operations and the Kremlin's activity abroad. He has appeared on CNN, the BBC, Voice of America, MSNBC, and others. He has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The New Yorker, NPR, Task & Purpose, Defense One, the Kyiv Independent, and many others. He regularly briefs senior military and civilian decision makers on Russian military capabilities and the Kremlin’s global campaigns. Mason received a B.A. with Honors in International Studies with a focus on US Foreign Policy and Russian from American University’s School of International Service.
