Anna Harvey

Anna Harvey is a Russia Researcher at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW). Prior to joining ISW, she served as a Research Intern at the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute and the American Foreign Policy Council, where she conducted research on political trends in the North Caucasus and contributed to the weekly Russia Policy Monitor. In summer 2024, she was a Research Assistant at the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies in Tartu, Estonia. For the 2022-2023 academic year, she received a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant grant to Cahul, Moldova. Anna has been published in Newsweek, the U.S. Army War College War Room publication, Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst, and Postimees newspaper.

In September 2024, Anna received an MA from the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies at Stanford University, where she studied Russian through a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship. Her master's thesis explored the construction of a united national mythology in the Russian Federation between 2000 and 2024. In May 2022, she received a BA from Dickinson College in Russian and Italian with a certificate in Security Studies.
