Madeline Shaffer
Madeline Shaffer is a development and communications professional with experience in the higher education and non-profit fields. With expertise in fundraising strategies, donor relations, communications, and data analysis, Madeline has successfully connected donors to their areas of passion and cultivated communities of shared philanthropic interests.
Prior to her role at ISW, Madeline served as the Associate Director of Development for Global & Experiential Learning at the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB). While there, she managed fundraising for the Education Abroad Program, Capital Internship Programs, and Pre-College Programs, outlining and implementing annual & major gift strategies to leverage a strong alumni community. Previously, Madeline served as the Development Analyst for the UCSB Library, where she engaged multi-interest donors through events, communications, stewardship, and reliable research.
Madeline received her M.Sc. in Earth Science from UCSB and her B.A. in Archaeology from The George Washington University. She actively volunteers with the Association for Women Geoscientists as a member of the board and scholarship committee.
