Matthew Sperzel

China Researcher
Matthew is a researcher with ISW's China Program. Prior to joining ISW, he lived in Taiwan while attending the SAIS Hopkins-Nanjing Center, where he studied Chinese politics and security. Matthew has previously worked as a country risk analyst for Morgan Stanley in Budapest, Hungary. He graduated with honors from Binghamton University with a B.S. in financial economics and a concentration in Chinese. His research interests include China’s intelligence apparatus, military-civil fusion, and hybrid warfare.
